When we think of the extreme scenarios they create very strong emotions. Emotions of fear, disdain, or outright rejection. Simply put most people are afraid of extremes and treat extremes as something bad.
Usually they shut out the extreme scenarios and possibilities completely. Wouldn’t it be liberating to imagine extreme poverty in your life – that would clarify your priorities. Wouldn’t it be equally empowering to imagine extreme wealth and what that would do your life and others life! Wouldn’t that prepare you to grow?
Mastering the extremes requires us to understand the extremes, even be mentally ready for them to a degree, and then taking a balanced approach. The one who can not imagine the boundaries – is just not pushing it hard enough.
