If I said, life actually is quite easy many of you will be up in arms and start listing out all your problems and all the so called injustices done to you and how it all should be. You will tell me how hard you tried and how things are just not fair and demotivating. But even in the most difficult of difficult of situations – is it really so? Or is it we who create our life situations – though with a time delay.
Life to me is really interplay of “Universe”, “Intuition” and “Ego”. The more we can let the “universal will” flow through us more happy we and others can be. The more our ego resists the universal will more pain we have. Let’s explore this more.
Universe
Call it God or simply higher energy or just a set of irrefutable principles – we know there is a higher power operating and that is what I refer to as the Universe. As tough as it is to believe sometimes this higher power is kind, benign and wants us to win. It gives us life’s experiences to help us learn, grow and flourish.
Intuition
Intuition is to “to look inside or contemplate” and go beyond reason or deduction and inference. Intuition is really us tuning into frequency of universe to receive signs from the universe. Signs that help us act in alignment with the universal will.
If we are disturbed, in fear, anxiety or worry or overall feeling negative emotions, our intuition stops working and we get disconnected from the higher power. When we are at peace, have faith and feel gratitude, our intuition is the strongest and we can work in alignment with universal will – that is be in flow.
Ego
Our ego is like a “Dam” that blocks the flow of the river of universal will. I am better than someone else, I deserve this, how can they do that, I am right they are wrong – all these thoughts are ego thoughts. Even to say, “this is the best thing for me” is ego because we are presupposing we know better than the universe in the long run.
When energy flows it has a rhythm it has some beauty. When energy is blocked it results in emotional pain and dis-ease. Ego blocks natural energy flow.
Go with flow
In the film Avatar, Jake Sully is accepted by the Na’vi tribe because of the will of Awa (universe – Great Goddess or Great Mother to the entire planet and its people) despite being aware of Jake and his people’s ill intentions. That exactly saves them as Jake goes from trickster to savior (who could have known that).
This amazing film story aside, I have and you too have at sometime experienced what it means to be in a state of flow. Reflect back to great time and you can connect to your own experience of it. Difficult situations are just a way of testing if you are in true state of alignment or not.
I leave you with a quote that convey the same point through different terminology.
“We want our lives to be in total control and hence we consciously block our sub conscious (as it is not in our control). However, this causes our power to get blocked too as 90% of our power comes from sub conscious. Instead of blocking the sub conscious, we need to bring it to conscious by way of being present to our past experiences. Living in control makes our life very small. We must learn to open ourselves to the mysteries of life. We should learn to flow with life, rather than trying to control it.” – Shivo Osho
